Medlla is a music album by Icelandic singer/songwriter/musician Bjrk, which was released on August 31st of 2004 (see 2004 in music). The album is almost entirely a capella, with almost no instruments (except for a piano on Ancestors and a gong on Pleasure is All Mine) other than the human voice; even the atmospheric haze that constitutes "Desired Constellation" was created from a sample of Bjrk's voice ("I'm not sure what to do with it") from a single on her Vespertine album, "Hidden Place". It features beatboxing, choral arrangements and throat singing. The album features guest appearances by such artists as Mike Patton, Robert Wyatt, Tagaq, Rahzel and Dokaka. The album reached a position of #9 on the UK Top 75 Albums Chart and a peak of #14, Bjrk's highest position to date, on the US album chart, the Billboard 200.
