The movie was written by John Hale and directed by Charles Jarrott. It was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actress in a Leading Role (Vanessa Redgrave), Best Art Direction-Set Decoration, Best Costume Design, Best Music, Original Dramatic Score and Best Sound.
