Martti Miettunen

Martti Miettunen (1908January 19 2002) was a politician in Finland. He was prime minister in 19611962 and 19751977. He was a lawmaker in the Agrarian Party from 1945 to 1958, and was also Governor of the Province of Lapland from 1958 to 1973. He died at the age of 94 in Kauniala military hospital near Helsinki in 2002. Miettunen served as a cabinet minister for 4 300 days, fourth longest in Finnish political history. He was known also as President Urho Kekkonen's right-hand man.
