Martin De Goiti

Martin de Goiti was the leader of the expedition to Manila, ordered by Miguel Lopez de Legaspi, in 1569. There he fought a battle with the ruler of Manila, Rajah Suliman, and won. This paved the way for the establishment of Manila as a Spanish settlement.
