Martin BrodeurMartin Brodeur (born May 16, 1972, in Montreal, Quebec) is an ice hockey goaltender, considered one of the best goaltenders of all time. As of 2003, he plays in the National Hockey League for the New Jersey Devils, which he has done since 1992. Brodeur won three Stanley Cups (1995, 2000, 2003). In 1994, he won the Calder Trophy (rookie of the year). Brodeur won the Jennings Trophy (fewest goals allowed) in 1997 (shared with Mike Dunham), 1998, 2003, and 2004. In both 2003 and 2004 he won the Vezina Trophy as the NHL's best goaltender. In the 2002 Olympics, Brodeur won an Olympic gold for Canada, becoming the first goaltender to win the Stanley Cup and a Gold Medal. Brodeur currently holds the best goals against average during the NHL's modern era. He also holds the record for most shutouts in a playoff year with 7, set in 2003.
