Martha Chase

Martha Chase was one of the leading researchers at the coveted Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in the 1950s. She worked wilth Alfred Hershey in a famous experiment which demonstrated the genomic properties of DNA over proteins. By marking bacteriophages with radioactive isotopes, Hershey and Chase were able to trace protein and DNA to determine which is the molecule of heredity. Her works include:
