Marais Viljoen

Marais Viljoen was born in 1915. He became State President of South Africa on August 21 1978 to October 10 1978, when he was succeeded by B.J. Vorster, and again on June 4 1979 until September 3 1984 and was then succeeded by PW (Pieter Willem) Botha. He was a relatively moderate member of the National Party, that instituted the apartheid regime.
