Mansfield is a town located in Douglas County, Washington. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 319.

History

Mansfield was officially incorporated on February 23, 1911.

Geography

  is located at 47°48'47" North, 119°38'24" West (47.812967, -119.640096). 
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.8 km² (0.3 mi²). 0.8 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 319 people, 148 households, and 95 families residing in the town. The population density is 397.3/km² (1,026.7/mi²). There are 168 housing units at an average density of 209.2/km² (540.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 94.04% White, 0.00% African American, 0.63% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 1.57% from other races, and 3.76% from two or more races. 3.45% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 148 households out of which 25.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.1% are married couples living together, 6.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 35.8% are non-families. 30.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 14.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.16 and the average family size is 2.63. In the town the population is spread out with 21.9% under the age of 18, 5.6% from 18 to 24, 24.5% from 25 to 44, 26.0% from 45 to 64, and 21.9% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 44 years. For every 100 females there are 85.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 87.2 males. The median income for a household in the town is $28,750, and the median income for a family is $42,500. Males have a median income of $38,125 versus $21,667 for females. The per capita income for the town is $17,368. 17.1% of the population and 13.3% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 19.7% of those under the age of 18 and 6.3% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
