Malton, North Yorkshire

Malton is a town in North Yorkshire, England, lying on the River Derwent. The town contains the offices of Ryedale District Council and has a population of around 4,000 people. Attractions in Malton include the remains of a Roman fort, a museum and a Gilbertine priory. Norton-on-Derwent is a suburb of the town, across the river, known for racehorse training. The village of Kirby Misperton is the location of Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo.
