Malthusianism

Malthusianism is a brand of the Manchester School capitalist-type political/economic thought developed during the industrial revolution by Thomas Malthus. It essentially states that population growth tends to stay above food production increase, and as such, there is a limit as to how fast a population can progress due to lack of expansion room and resources.
