Maio

See also Mobile Allocation Index Offset for the GSM term''.
Maio is the easternmost of the Sotaventos islands of Cape Verde. It is named for its first sighting by Europeans on May 1 1460. The island long prospered around salt collecting, with a little agriculture and grazing, but none of the industries are currently profitable. The islands main town is Vila do Maio, also known as Poto Ingles, near which its airport lies. The island is also known for its trees, unusual for Cape Verde.
