Maillane

Maillane is a village and commune in the Bouches-du-Rhne dpartement of southern France, located in the former province of Provence. Population: 1,891.

History

Maillane was the birthplace of the 19th century poet Frdric Mistral (1904 Nobel Prize in literature).

Geography

Maillane is located 7 km north-west of Saint-Rmy-de-Provence and 15 km north-east of Tarascon.
