Maesteg

Maesteg is a town in the county borough of Bridgend, traditional county of Glamorgan, south Wales, lying in the Llynfi Valley. It grew around the coal mining industry, although its pits have now closed. Now mainly residential with some local industries such as light engineering and cosmetics. It has a population of about 25,000 people. The Afan Forest Park lies near the town. The village of Llangynwyd is situated 2 miles to the south of the town.
