MTT assay
is a
laboratory test
for measuring cellular proliferation (cell growth). MTT is added to a cell culture and is modified into a dye by
enzymes
associated with
metabolic activity
in a live cell. MTT is short for 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide.
