MFM MFM 103.4 is a radio station broadcasting to North West England and North East Wales from Wrexham. It is owned by the GWR Group broadcasts a mix of popular music and presenter chat as well as GWR networked shows, mainly in the evening. Its transmitter is on top of Hope Hill near Wrexham and although it offically broadcasts to Wrexham and Chester, it can be heard much further afield. The station was originally named Marcher Sound until 1989 when it split from its AM frequency of 1260 and became MFM while its sister station became Marcher Gold, now Classic Gold Marcher. It then opened another FM frequency, MFM 97.1, in order for the station to be more audible on the Wirral. This station is now known as The Buzz 97.1.
