Louise Of Sweden

Queen Louise Alexandra Marie Irene of Sweden (13 July, 1889 - 7 March 1965) was the second wife of King Gustav VI Adolf of Sweden. She was born as Her Serene Highness Princess Louise of Battenberg, and was known as Lady Louise Mountbatten after renouncing all German titles in 1917, during World War I. On 3 November 1923 she married His Royal Highness Oskar Fredrik Wilhelm Olaf Gustav Adolf, Duke of Scania, Crown Prince of Sweden, later King Gustav VI Adolf. Queen Louise was the second of the four children of Count Louis Alexander of Battenberg, later Admiral of the Fleet, later Louis Mountbatten, first Marquess of Milford Haven and Princess Victoria of Hesse and by Rhine, a granddaughter of Queen Victoria. Louise died on 7th March 1965. Within 3 weeks of her death also her cousin Mary Princess Royal Countess of Harewood died in the arms of her son George 7th Earl of Harewood.
