Volhynia
, a medieval
Ruthenian
principality, which was part of
Halych-Volhynia
in the
13th
and
14th centuries
. The name was always used together with
Galicia
(which see for details), the Latin name for
Halych
. From
1772
to
1918
Lodomeria was officialy an
Austrian
province, although it only existed on paper. It had no territory and could not be found on any map.
