Live Oak And White Springs Railroad

Florida state law chapter 3655, approved February 16, 1885, incorporated the Live Oak and White Springs Railroad Company, owned by George A. Wight, Jno. A. Powell, John Frazer, J. F. White, H. A. Blackburn, W. H. Slate and Charles H. Cone, The railroad was promised land grants along its line if it began construction within one year. No land grants were to be given for sections built after three years.
