Literature Of Myanmar

The literature of Myanmar is rich, as Burmese has a history of more than a thousand years. The special characteristics of Burmese makes the writing of poetry in Burmese easy. It is true, however, that the influence of Buddhist culture has discouraged fiction writing. The earliest form of Burmese literature was engravings for memorials or for special occasions. Later, they were recorded on leaves.
