List Of Prime Ministers Of DenmarkThis is a list over the heads of government in Denmark, from the establishment of a constitutional monarchy in 1849 until present. The King or Queen is head of state. Each head of government was a leader of one or more cabinets; see Cabinet of Denmark for a list. See also Prime Minister of Denmark for a description and history of the post itself. The current Prime Minister of Denmark is Anders Fogh Rasmussen, who came into office in 2001. From 1848, when A. W. Moltke took precedecy of the Danish Council of State (ie. the privy council), to 1855, the head of government wore the title of Prime Minister (premierminister). From 1855 to 1918 the title was President of the Council (Konseilsprsident). From 1918 until the present, title of the head of government is State Minister (Statsminister) in Denmark, but referred to as the Prime Minister internationally, including on the English version of the Prime Minister's homepage.
