As with most countries, the United Kingdom has many nicknames for residents of its cities and regions. For example, residents of Liverpool are referred to as Liverpudlians or Scousers. Some of these names are a badge of pride, in other cases they can be considered offensive.

Birmingham: Brummie
England: Sassenach (Scots usage)
Glasgow: Glaswegian, Weejie (Edinburgh usage)
Ireland: Paddy, Mick, Culchie (a person from outside of Dublin), rednecked culchie (a person from the County Cork)
Leigh: Lobbygobbler
Liverpool: Liverpudlian, Scouse, Scouser, Woolyback (for a person not from Liverpool)
London: Cockney (strictly speaking, a Cockney has to be born within the sound of Bow Bells)
Manchester: Mancunian, Manc
Middlesbrough: Smoggy
Newcastle: Geordie
Plymouth: Janner
Scotland: Jock, Mac
Stockport: Stopfordian
Sunderland: Mackem
Wales: Taffy
Wigan: Pie-eater
Yorkshire: Tyke
