Linknet

LinkNet is a secure IRC-network that support SSL-encryption.
Channels can be set to mode +S, which means only SSL-enabled clients can enter the channel.

The network also supports "hostname mangling", which means that your real host is hidden from other users. This is done with the server command /mode +h.
There are some IRC-clients with built in support for SSL, such as irssi. If you use mIRC you have to install an SSL plugin, such as StunTour.

From version 6.14 mIRC supports SSL if you install some extra DLL's from OpenSSL.
