Ligurian Republic

The Ligurian Republic was a short-lived French satellite republic formed by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1796. It consisted of the territory of the old Republic of Genoa which covered most of the Ligurian region of Northwest Italy. In 1805, the area was directly annexed by France.
