Lichtenberg

Lichtenberg is a borough of Berlin, Germany. In 2001, it was merged with the former borough of Hohenschnhausen; the resulting borough retained the name Lichtenberg. It encompasses an area of 52.29 km and has, as of 2003, about 260,200 inhabitants. Its current mayor is Christina Emmrich (PDS). Lichtenberg was home to the extensive main headquarters complex of the Stasi, the East German intelligence service. The complex is now a museum.
