Leo V Of Armenia

Leo (or Leon) V of Armenia (c.1310-1341) was king of the Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia, ruling from 1320 to 1341. He was the son of Oshin of Armenia and Jeanne of Anjou, and came to the throne on the death of his father. His stepfather, Oshin of Korikos, served as his regent until 1329 when Leo V had him murdered. Leo was married twice. His first marriage was to Alice, daughter of Oshin of Korikos. Leo had her murdered in 1329. His second wife was Constance of Aragon, widow of Henry II of Cyprus. He spent the last years of his reign holed up in the citadel at Sis, asking for aid from the west. In 1341 the Barons rose up and murdered him. He was succeeded by his cousin Guy of Lusignan.
