Leigh Howard Stevens

Leigh Howard Stevens was a marimba artist responsible for developing, codifying, and evangelizing particular technical methods used mainly in the United States. His influence peaked in the 1980s, although it carries on through those who studied with him. Unfortunately, the pedistal of marimba technique may have been at some cost to overall musicianship. Those who have studied with him include the late Nora Davenport.
