Langwith College

Langwith College is a college of the University of York, home to the English department and the second college to be opened following the university's foundation in 1964. Not a heavily populated college, Langwith is known to most students by virtue of its facilities - its snack bar, for instance, is a common meeting venue, and its capacious dining hall is often used for functions such as the Battle of the Bands and concerts by the Gilbert & Sullivan society. Other notable features include its own library and a giant chess set.
