Kure, Hiroshima

Kure (呉市; -shi) is a city located in Hiroshima, Japan. As of the March 20, 2005 expansion but with October 1, 2004 population data, the city has an estimated population of 252,253 and a density of 714 persons per km². The total area is 353.16 km². The city was founded on October 1, 1902. Up until the end of the Second World War, it served as a military and naval center. Headquarters of Independant Field Records was situated there in 1956
