Knowle (IPA: , or in some older or RP speakers) is a small town in the West Midlands borough of Solihull, in England close to the town of Solihull. It is traditionally located in the county of Warwickshire, but was transferred to the West Midlands in 1974. It now lies a few miles from the border with present day Warwickshire. Knowle has some fame as being the birthplace of the author John Wyndham. The town lies upon the A4141 road and is close to the M42 motorway. Nearby places include Birmingham, Solihull, Dorridge, Hampton-in-Arden and Balsall Common.
