Kingstown, MarylandKingstown is a census-designated place located in Queen Anne's County, Maryland. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 1,644. Geography Kingstown is located at 39°12'32" North, 76°2'35" West (39.208840, -76.043034). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 6.6 km² (2.6 mi²). 5.8 km² (2.2 mi²) of it is land and 0.8 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 12.11% water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 1,644 people, 668 households, and 486 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 283.4/km² (733.2/mi²). There are 719 housing units at an average density of 123.9/km² (320.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 92.82% White, 6.14% African American, 0.18% Native American, 0.49% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.06% from other races, and 0.30% from two or more races. 0.55% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 668 households out of which 31.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.6% are married couples living together, 10.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 27.2% are non-families. 22.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.46 and the average family size is 2.88. In the CDP the population is spread out with 24.5% under the age of 18, 5.1% from 18 to 24, 24.9% from 25 to 44, 27.1% from 45 to 64, and 18.4% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 42 years. For every 100 females there are 93.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 88.6 males. The median income for a household in the CDP is $49,539, and the median income for a family is $59,063. Males have a median income of $40,820 versus $26,167 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $26,616. 4.2% of the population and 1.3% of families are below the poverty line.
