Kimble County, TexasKimble County is a county located in the state of Texas. As of 2000, the population is 4,468. Its county seat is Junction6. Kimble is named for George C. Kimbell, who died at the Battle of the Alamo. Geography According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 3,240 km² (1,251 mi²). 3,239 km² (1,251 mi²) of it is land and 1 km² (0 mi²) of it is water. The racial makeup of the county is 90.29% White, 0.09% Black or African American, 0.34% Native American, 0.45% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 7.48% from other races, and 1.34% from two or more races. 20.73% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 1,866 households out of which 28.20% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.20% are married couples living together, 8.60% have a female householder with no husband present, and 31.10% are non-families. 28.60% of all households are made up of individuals and 16.00% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.37 and the average family size is 2.90. In the county, the population is spread out with 23.60% under the age of 18, 6.00% from 18 to 24, 22.60% from 25 to 44, 26.90% from 45 to 64, and 20.90% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 43 years. For every 100 females there are 92.70 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 90.50 males. The median income for a household in the county is $29,396, and the median income for a family is $34,966. Males have a median income of $24,844 versus $20,431 for females.
