Khun Borom

Khun Borom is considered by the Lao to be the father of their race. In mythologized history, he descended from the heavens (some have interpreted this as China) in the 8th century and landed at Muang Then (believed to be present-day Dien Bien Phu in Vietnam). He established seven states for his seven sons to rule. The eldest of them, Khun Lo, was given Muang Sua.
