Khia

Khia is an Hip-Hop arist from Tampa, Florida; who had a hit with the single My Neck, My Back (lick it) in the UK and the US. The single produced massive controversy when released as its original lyrics amounted to little more than extreme sexual demands. A cleaned version was released with the sexual references removed, but the video still showed scenes of a somewhat sexual nature, with very scantily dressed women getting sprayed with water by fireman whose hoses passed between their legs. An internet rumour was circulated in June 2002, when the track was first becoming popular in the US, that Khia had been murdered by an ex-boyfriend. She appeared on VH-1 to deny this. The track only reached European shores in 2004, peaking at number four in the UK singles chart in October 2004. Musically, her style is quite typical of Southern rap, somewhat influenced by crunk as well as bass music.
