Keith Urban

leftright Keith Lionel Urban (born October 26, 1967 in Whangarei, New Zealand) is a New Zealander - Australian country singer who is now highly successful in the United States. Urban began to learn the guitar while living in Australia at age 6 and dropped out of high school to pursue music. He later went to the U.S. and formed The Ranch. The Ranch's debut album failed to gain commercial success and the members parted ways not long afterwards. Keith went on to play as a session musician on albums such as Garth Brooks' Double Live and Dixie Chicks' Fly. In 1999 he released his self-titled debut album as a solo artist. Keith Urban, went gold in the U.S. His first major album was released in 2002, Golden Road went platinum in several countries. Finally in 2004 Be Here was released and nominated for a Grammy Award.
