Kanazawa-ku, Yokohama

Kanazawa-ku (Japanese:金沢区;-ku) is a ward located in the southernmost part of Yokohama-shi (Japanese:横浜市;-shi), newly established from Isogo-ku in May, 1948. The east of Kanazawa-ku faces Tokyo Bay, the south faces Yokosuka-shi (Japanese:横須賀市;-shi), Zushi-shi (Japanese:逗子市;-shi), and Kamakura-shi (Japanese:鎌倉市;-shi). The population of Kanazawa-ku is 208,317 as of October 1, 2004. The symbol expresses the image of sea, waves and a sea gull. This mark established in 1987.
