Jumanji

Jumanji is the title of a 1982 children's book written and illustrated by Chris Van Allsburg. It was made into a 1995 movie of the same name. Both the book and the movie are about a jungle-themed board game that has real animals and other jungle elements magically appear where the players are when they are playing. The storyline of the book is that the children playing the game have to get the house looking neat before their parents return from the opera with company. In the movie, the children are joined by two adults, and together the four of them must stop the rampant destruction of the city caused by the game. The movie starred Robin Williams, Bonnie Hunt, Kirsten Dunst, Bradley Pierce, and Jonathan Hyde, and was directed by Joe Johnston.
