Julian Simmons

Julian Simmons is a Northern Irish television presenter, who works for UTV. He appears as an on-air continuity announcer, and unlike those on other ITV regions, is actually visible. In addition to announcing the next programme, he also introduces competitions, reads out messages from viewers, etc. He has a loyal fanbase of older women, presumably overlapping with Daniel O'Donnell. Simmons originally provided weekend continuity announcements only, as he held a full-time job in Air Canada during the week, but now appears every evening. His presenting style has been compared to that of a far less lewd Graham Norton, with campness being an important factor. He is most famous for this when announcing the start of the ITV soap Coronation Street.
