Juan De Salcedo

Juan de Salcedo, grandson of the Spanish explorer Miguel Lpez de Legaspi, was known as the last of the conquistadors. Juan de Salcedo was born in the early 1500s in Mexico. He later went to the Philippines where he traveled most of Luzon island and founded several Spanish settlements. He died of a malignant fever in his home in Vigan in Ilocos Sur on March 11, 1576.
