Joseph Simmons

Joseph "Run" Simmons (b. November 14, 1964 in Jamaica, Queens) was one of the founding members of hip hop group Run-DMC. Simmons was one of the lead vocalists of the group, along with co-founder and friend Darryl "DMC" McDaniels. The group's work is considered by many to be inventive and orginal, using numerous revolutionary styles, including the work of DJ Jam Master Jay. Simmons is the brother of Def Jam Records founder and music producer Russell Simmons.
