Josef Mohr

Josef Mohr was the Austrian priest who wrote the words to the Christmas carol, Silent Night. Born in Salzburg in 1792, Joseph was a generous man who donated all of his money to charity, and died penniless in Wagrain in 1848. See also: Franz Gruber, who composed the melody of Silent Night
