John Boland

This article is about the Irish politician. For the author, see John Boland (author). John Boland (1945?-2001) was a senior Irish politician. Boland first ran for the Dil in 1969, however, he was unsuccessful. He was eventually elected to Dil ireann on his third attempt in 1977 as a Fine Gael TD. He retained his seat until his retirement from politics at the 1989 General Election. He served in the Cabinets of Garret FitzGerald between 1981 and 1987. Boland died on August 15, 2001.
