Johann Evangelist Haydn

Johann Evangelist Haydn (17431805) was a tenor singer, the younger brother of the composers Joseph Haydn and Michael Haydn. For a long time he sang in the chapel of Joseph Haydn's patron, Prince Esterhzy. "Hansl" Haydn, as he was known to his brothers, was apparently not a very good singer, and was kept in the employ of the Eszterhzys as a favor to his illustrious older brother Joseph, who served the Eszterhzys as music director. Haydn, Johann Evangelist Haydn, Johann Evangelist
