Jens Jeremies

Jens Jeremies (b. March 5 1974 in Grlitz) is a German footballer, a defensive and hard-tackling midfielder. As of 2003 he plays in the Bundesliga for FC Bayern Mnchen. Jeremies began his career in 1980 as a youth player with the local side Motor Grlitz. In 1986 he moved to Dynamo Dresden and in 1995 to TSV 1860 Munich. Jeremies signed for Bayern Mnchen in 1998. All his club successes have come with Bayern Mnchen, three league championships (19992001) and victory in the Champion's League (2001). Jeremies was given his first cap on November 15 1997 in a friendly game against South Africa. He then played in the 1998 World Cup. Jeremies was dropped from the national team during the build up to Euro 2000 when he called the side "pathetic". He was later reinstated in the national squad and played in the 2002 World Cup.
