Jenny Calendar

Jenny Calendar is a fictional character in the television series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, played by Robia La Morte. Jenny was a Sunnydale High computer science teacher who initially had an uneasy relationship with Rupert Giles. She called herself a "techno-pagan" and was a member of a cyber-coven, which afforded her the opportunity to assist Buffy and her group in season one and early season two. Her relationship with Giles progressed into a romantic one, and she became his girlfriend. What was unknown to the other characters and the audience until the mid-point of season two was that her real identity was Janna of the Kalderash gypsy clan. This clan was responsible for cursing Angel with his soul, and they had sent Jenny to watch over him to make sure he did not lose it. But Angel did indeed lose his soul, and later (as Angelus) killed Jenny before she could attempt another restoration spell. He then left her dead body in Giles's bed, surrounded by romantic symbols like rose petals. Rupert was devastated and attempted vengeance on Angelus, but could not kill him. Jenny's murder was used by Xander as fodder for his argument that Angel was beyond redemption. Jenny's form was mentally projected by Drusilla at the end of season two, to convince a badly tortured Giles to reveal the details of a ritual that Angelus had to perform. Her image was again assumed by The First Evil in season three to torment Angel and try to convince him to commit suicide. After that, she was not seen again.
