Jean BourgainJean Bourgain (born February 28, 1954, Ostende, Belgium), is a professor of mathematics at the Institute for Advanced Study. He is noted as a prolific problem-solver. His work is in various areas of mathematical analysis such as the geometry of Banach spaces, harmonic analysis, analytic number theory, combinatorics, ergodic theory and partial differential equations.
