Janet Jackson (Album)

Janet Jackson was the self-titled debut album by Janet Jackson. Released in 1982, it sold moderately well and featured Jackson's first Top 100 pop singles, "Young Love" (a Top 10 R&B single) and "Come Give Your Love To Me" (a Top 20 R&B single produced by Foster Slyvers). This and Jackson's 1984 follow-up Dream Street would be precursors to Jackson's groundbreaking sound with the Control album in 1986.
