Jan De Bont

Jan de Bont, (born October 22, 1943). Dutch cameraman and film director. De Bont was born in Eindhoven. He first came to fame in Holland as the cinematagrapher for the 1973 movie Turks Fruit, directed by Paul Verhoeven, starring Rutger Hauer and Monique van de Ven. Since the early 1980s, he worked frequently in Hollywood. De Bont made his directorial debut with Speed in 1994 which was a big success. He followed this up with Twister in 1996. De Bont was married to Monique van de Ven for seventeen years.
