Jakub DemlJakub Deml was born 1878 in Tasov near Třebč, Bohemia, and died in 1961 in Třebč. Life Between 1902-1909 Deml was a Catholic priest, suspended in 1912. He then became one of the great Bohemian authors of 1920s and 1930s. Publishing of his books was prohibited after the communist coup in 1948. Main works - Zapomenut světlo Light, published 1934 and confiscated by moral censors for 'obscenous moments' - in fact this book is probably greatest prose work of 30ties as Roman Jakobson said. The only scandal I see is no English translation available today. It was made into a film by Vladimr Michlek in 1996.
