Injil

The Injil (the Arabic word for the Christian Gospels) is, according to Islam, one of the three holy books revealed by Allah prior to the Qur'an - the others being the Zabur (Psalms) and the Tawrat (Torah). Together the Tawrat, Zabur, Injil and Qur'an make up the revealed books of Islam. Muslims believe, on the basis of the Qur'an, that humans have corrupted the Injil and Tawrat, and that they are no longer available as the word of God as it was revealed, and that only the Qur'an, which God promised that he will protect, is still true to His original revelation.
