Inge Mller

Inge Mller (born Inge Meyer) (1925 - June 1 1966) was an East German poet. She was already married for the second time when she met the poet and dramatist Heiner Mller. She is mostly known as his wife, even though she received the Heinrich-Mann-Preis in 1959 - together with her husband. She committed suicide in 1966. After that, the paranoid East German officials did not allow her works to be published. Thus her poems were first published in 1996, thirty years after her death. Mller, Inge Mller, Inge
